The mood of the away fans was understandably low after they watched their team move one step closer to a return to the Championship.

Survival is almost impossible with Luton needing to win their remaining game against and Fulham and hope Nottingham Forest lose to both Chelsea and Burnley.

They would also have to turn around a goal difference of 13 if they were to manage the results – meaning a return to life in England’s second tier now seems inevitable.

The dream of a great escape from relegation looked to be on in the early stages of the game when Arsenal loanee Albert Sambi Lokonga put Luton 1-0 up inside six minutes.
