Report: Spurs and Man United representatives fly to Germany for talks over Euro 24 star

Euro 2024 is the perfect place for any player to show what he can do and secure a big move this summer, and one Denmark star has done just that this week as representatives from Spurs and Manchester United have travelled to Germany for talks about a transfer.

Morten Hjulmand wanted by Premier League clubs

England played Denmark on Thursday night, with the game ending in a 1-1 draw. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg did himself plenty of favours, with a Man of the Match performance, but he wasn’t the only Danish midfielder to play a starring role.

Denmark grabbed an equalizer in the first half thanks to a wonderful long-range effort from Morten Hjulmand, and now it is thought the Sporting Lisbon midfielder has had representatives from Tottenham and Manchester United flying in to talk to him.

That’s the latest word from Record (via SportWitness), who claim Hjulmand is coming off the back of a “fairytale” of a first season with Sporting, and has got tongues wagging at Euro 2024 already.

Apparently, “emissaries” from both Spurs and United have been in Germany looking to hold discussions about a possible transfer, with the two sides having “long followed” his progress.

However, it is thought Sporting manager, Ruben Amorim, has the assurances of his board that Hjulmand will not be sold this summer.

And, the player himself has been pretty open about the fact he doesn’t want to leave just yet. He previously told Record (via Sport Witness) that he wasn’t paying attention to rumours and insisted he is committed to the long-term contract he has in Portugal.

It’s an interesting one, as Hjulmand does look like exactly the kind of physical, dynamic, adventurous number 6 we need.

But, if he’s tied into a contract, is happy to stay at Sporting, and they’re eager to keep him, I cannot see a move happening.
