Silver alert canceled after man found drowned in western Kansas

HAYS (KSNT) - The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) said a 66-year-old man, first announced missing in a Silver Alert last week, has been found dead.

On Thursday, June 20, the KBI issued a Silver Alert for Randy S. Goodermuth. In the original press release, the KBI said Goodermuth had schizophrenia and was last seen hallucinating and running from home.

On Sunday, June 23, the KBI announced they had found Goodermuth dead south of Hays. An Ellis County Coroner ruled his death was an accidental drowning.
