Police: Watervliet man arrested for menacing with gun in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State Police announced the arrest of a Watervliet man for allegedly menacing someone with a handgun. Shakeer Mitchell, 27, faces multiple charges.

Charges

• First-degree reckless endangerment
• Second-degree stalking
• Second-degree menacing
• Endangering the welfare of a child

It is alleged that on July 1 Mitchell followed a car with two adults and a child under six years old onto I-90 in Albany before displaying and pointing a handgun at the victims in their car. Mitchell also allegedly threatened to shoot one of the victims earlier in the day.

Mitchell was found at his home later in the day and arrested, according to police. He was arraigned in Albany City Court and released under Albany County Probation Department's supervision.
