YouTube Gold: Kyle Filipowski Breaks Out

As the Utah Jazz start to see what the rookie from Duke can do.

Kyle Filipowski has had a rough go of it since the NBA Draft. Expected to go in the first round, he fell to the top of the second, allegedly partly because of some controversy around his fiancée. If you haven’t followed it, there were some concerns about the fact that she is older than he is and his family apparently has some reservations about their relationship. But he’s an adult and can make his own decisions.

The Jazz picked him and for the first couple of games in summer league, Filipowski struggled. Not on Wednesday night.

Filipowski showed the Jazz what he was capable of, with some beautiful post moves, three point shooting and solid defense, not to mention passing well.

Filipowski finished with 20 points on 9-16/2-3 from the floor. He also had seven rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block. That’s a solid night by any standard, but he also showed some real savvy. The Jazz have to be thrilled.
