Suspect in East Oakland quadruple shooting remains at large

OAKLAND — Authorities are continuing their search for the suspect in a quadruple shooting that left two people dead and two others wounded in East Oakland on Saturday morning.

As of Sunday morning, the suspect remains at large, according to Oakland police.

The incident occurred just after 9 a.m. on Saturday outside an apartment complex in the 1600 block of 83rd Avenue, near International Boulevard. A 27-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were killed in the shooting. Two other women, ages 23 and 38, were injured and are currently listed in stable condition.

Police have not yet released a motive for the shooting or any information about whether the suspect knew the victims. The relationships between the victims also remain undisclosed.

The killings mark the 58th and 59th homicides investigated by Oakland police this year, compared with 67 homicides at this time last year.
