Emily Wilson on The Iliad (REVIEW ESSAY)

In 2018, the classicist Emily Wilson of the University of Pennsylvania published her translation of the Homeric epic The Odyssey (Norton). Because she was the first woman to translate The Odyssey into English, her translation was widely publicized for that reason. In 2023, she published her translation of The Iliad (Norton). But she is not the first woman to translate it into English.
