Assam assembly amends rule for Friday namaaz break, aligns timing with other days

The Assam assembly has amended a rule that allowed a two-hour adjournment on Fridays for Muslim members to offer namaaz. Proceedings will now continue uninterrupted, as on other days. This change reflects the secular nature of the Constitution, and the rule was dropped unanimously by the Rules Committee, chaired by Speaker Biswajit Daimary.
