Video: Truck Slams Into Golf Cart on Course

A suspect has been arrested after a wild accident on a Delaware golf course was caught on video.

According to local officials, a blue Ford Bronco was erratically driving around the golf course at Deerfield Golf Club, in Newark, Delaware around 2:20 p.m. on Aug. 29. Per TMZ, the vehicle slammed into a golf cart, sending the golfer inside flying, and the driver quickly fled the scene. The driver was believed to be drunk, and authorities didn't have a hard time finding the truck after the incident and taking the perpetrator into custody.

The video circulated on Reddit to shock and horror. The victim suffered minor injuries at the scene but refused any further medical treatment. The driver, meanwhile, was hospitalized and is expected to be arraigned once he's released. He's wanted on a bevy of charges, including driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, malicious mischief, and leaving the scene of an accident.

A Reddit user claiming to be in the viral video described the horror he experienced.

"I am in this video. I am the guy that runs out of the way right before the driver plows into the golf cart my buddy was in," he said. "We had just finished up the 16th hole and somebody was doing doughnuts all over the driving range. I pulled out my phone to try and get a picture of his license plate to turn in to the clubhouse."

It quickly went from strange to scary.

"The driver saw I was recording him and turned to try and run me over," he continued. "At this point all we know was the driver has been apprehended by the police and we have given our statements. We don't know motive or anything else. It went from 'I'm taking pictures of some idiot' to 'Oh, he's trying to murder me' in about 0.5 seconds."
