Water shortage hits Athienou

Athienou was hit by a water shortage on Thursday.

The town’s municipality said the shortage had hit due to problems in the water development department’s central water supply.

The Larnaca district government said maintenance work would be carried out during the day on Thursday, and that they may take three or four hours.

It added that while the work is being carried out, the municipality’s water supply would be reduced.

As such, they urged consumers “to be particularly careful in their water usage” so that their needs can be satisfied by the existing water being stored in water storage tanks.
