Wednesday night crash on Johnston Street leaves one hospitalized
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- One person is in critical but stable condition after a crash on Johnston Street Wednesday night, authorities said.
Lafayette Police responded at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 3500 block of Johnston Street in regards to a traffic accident involving two vehicles at the intersection of Johnston St. and Foreman Dr. One unidentified subject involved in the accident was transported to a local hospital.
Investigators said vehicle 1 was traveling north on Johnston Street at Foreman Drive in the left turn lane with a green signal (no arrow). Vehicle 2 was traveling south on Johnston Street in the inside lane with a green signal. Vehicle 1 turned left, crossing vehicle 2’s lane of travel, and vehicle 2 struck vehicle 1.
The driver of vehicle 2 was taken to a local hospital where they are currently listed as being in critical but stable condition.
The driver of vehicle 1 provided a voluntary breath sample of 0.000g%BAC. The crash is still under investigation.
