GOP Senate candidate doubles down on claims Diddy sex trafficking charges a 'distraction'

Minnesota Republican Senate Candidate Royce White continued to insist Friday that sex trafficking charges against rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs are “a distraction” for Black people in a social media post less than 24 hours after he sounded off on the social media site about the same topic.

“Yes... A distraction...You people are so obsessed with sexual politics, you drop the ball on every other policy,” the 33-year-old ex-NBA player wrote Friday on X. “The US Dollar has lost 25% of its purchasing power over the last 4 years and you want eyes fixed on P Diddy's sexploits?”

White’s unbending take on Combs’ legal troubles, which seemed to come out of nowhere Thursday night, came Friday as a reply to the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, which prompted an offensive dig from White: “Speaking of that, I thought you guys liked perverts over at the DFL.”

The bizarre claims seemed to alarm some Minnesotans in his party Friday.

“Come on. This is so out of context and on purpose. Makes you lose credibility,” said Marisa Simonetti, a Republican candidate for Hennepin County Commissioner.

Recent polls show White trailing Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar by double digits.

White ended his latest post with: “Our Country is Bankrupt... Close the Border, End the Wars! A--holes! No pun intended....”
