Suspected medical issue causes serious injury crash
LYON COUNTY (KSNT) - A 44-year-old Kansas City man was taken to a Topeka hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Lyon County on Thursday.
At 3:15 a.m., the 44-year-old man was driving a 2013 Chevy Silverado south on I335 and had what the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) suspected was a medical issue. The driver hit a guardrail and a barrier wall before crossing the southbound lanes and going into a ditch. The driver crossed the southbound lanes again and hit a barrier wall before coming to rest on the inside shoulder, according to the KHP.
The man was taken to a Topeka hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The KHP said the man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
