Bad news as Tottenham player’s injury is more serious than first thought
It has now emerged that one Tottenham player may be out of action for much longer than initially anticipated.
Tottenham man has had a year to forget
2024 has undoubtedly been the toughest year of Richarlison‘s career, with the forward breaking down with one injury after another.
His latest injury came in Tottenham’s 4-1 win over Aston Villa at the start of this month, with the 27-year-old’s hamstring giving way in the process of assisting a goal for Dominic Solanke.
Some sources have suggested over recent weeks that the Brazilian suffered a grade three tear.
Richarlison’s injury is worse than initially thought
Trivela now explain that Richarlison suffered an injury on his right thigh but there was no damage to his tendon. It was thus expected that he would recover in around four to six weeks, which is the standard timeframe for these kinds of injuries.
However, the outlet reveals the Tottenham man’s case is different, with the injury appearing to be ‘more serious than initially anticipated’
The publication says that the view of the Spurs medical staff is that Richarlison is unlikely to play again this year and is only expected to be back at the start of 2025.
One more month on the sidelines is not a disaster
While this news is not ideal, it is not a disaster if Richarlison is back in action by the turn of the year.
However, the big question is whether he will be able to stay fit, with recent evidence suggesting that there is a good chance he would break down again even if his workload is managed carefully.
It would be interesting to see if Spurs are tempted to enter the market for a striker in January, with Postescoglou needing a reliable backup for Dominic Solanke.
