Sabres D Rasmus Dahlin, G Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen will play in 4 Nations Face-Off

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin and goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen have been selected to represent their home countries at the NHL 4 Nations Face-Off, an international tournament that will be played in Boston and Montreal from Feb. 12-20.

Dahlin, a native of Lidkoping, Sweden, has previously participated in the 2018 Olympics, two of three IIHF World Championships, and twice in the World Juniors. Luukkonen, from Espoo, Finland, was a tournament All-Star in helping the Finnish team win gold medals at the 2019 World Juniors and U18 World Championships in 2016.

This season, Dahlin has 19 points, third among Sabres skaters and 11th for NHL defensemen. Luukkonen ranks ninth in goals-against average (2.57) and 16th in save percentage (.910), and best among his compatriot goalies.
