‘Chicago Fire,’ ‘Chicago Med’ and ‘Chicago P.D.’ crossover event set for January
One Chicago fans, get ready.
The first crossover event in five years featuring all three of Dick Wolf's hit Wednesday night series on NBC —"Chicago Fire," "Chicago P.D.," "Chicago Med" — is set to air in January, according to a story Friday by Variety.
The report noted that the three-part franchise event will air on Jan. 29, starting at 7 p.m. with a twist: The evening will lead off with "Chicago Fire," followed by "Chicago Med" and capped with "Chicago P.D."
According to the official logline released by NBC and reported by various major outlets, the plot is centered on a major gas explosion at a high-rise: “Chicago’s first responders come out in force to rescue hundreds of civilians. It’s the calamity beneath the surface, however, that sends our heroes on a race to save 40 people trapped deep underground, including two of their own.”
The last time all the three series tackled one storyline was in 2019 with "Infection," when a deadly bacteria/flesh-eating disease plagued Chicago.
According to Deadline.com, the new season premiere date is Jan. 8 for all three shows ("Chicago Med" Season 9B), ("Chicago Fire" Season 12B) and ("Chicago P.D." Season 11B).
