St. Landry Parish inmate escaped from trash crew detail, sheriff says
ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for help in locating an inmate who allegedly escaped custody while on a trusty trash crew detail near Eunice Poultry.
In a social media post, the sheriff's office said Richard Louis Deville, 34, of Eunice, was last seen wearing a neon yellow/green shirt with "SLPSO" on the back. He was also last seen wearing blue jeans with "SLPSO" in white letters down the front of one pants leg.
Authorities said Deville was participating in a trusty trash crew detail near Eunice Poultry, located at 251 Laurel Street in Eunice, when he ran from deputies.
The sheriff's office said Deville was being held on charges including drug court violation and possession of schedule I and schedule II CDS.
