Here's Why 'Celebrity Big Brother' Won't Happen in 2025 & What Producers Hope Will Come Next
It has been nearly three years since the most recent season of Celebrity Big Brother aired and we unfortunately won’t be getting a new edition in 2025.
CBS debuted the celebrity edition of Big Brother in 2018 to air at the same time as the Winter Olympics, which were airing on NBC. The network decided to run a second installment in 2019, but they waited until the Olympics again in 2022 for season three.
While the producers of Big Brother want to do another celebrity season, they’re opening up about why CBS has not moved forward with it yet.

“If you look at it, and again, we can’t speak for CBS, the history of Celebrity Big Brother has it going against the Winter Olympics,” executive producer Allison Grodner told Entertainment Weekly.
She added, “We did try the back-to-back, and we’ve heard rumblings that [airing opposite the Olympics] might be the way that Celebrity is utilized.”
Allison does want to do a celebrity edition every year.
“We can’t speak for CBS, but we agree with you. We think Celebrity is its own thing and is worthy of being on every other year or annually. It’s been a lot of fun, so we’re hoping to see it come back,” she said.
Executive producer Rich Meehan added, “Yeah, we would love to do it. There are usually much bigger things in play, like it’s scheduling and how much time they have on air, and there are a lot of factors that are much bigger than Big Brother that go into that. But we love doing it. It’s really fun, and it would be great to do again, But sometimes we have to wait and see how many scripted shows are happening and all that stuff. There’s a lot of other things that go into it.”
Hopefully we’ll get another season of Celebrity Big Brother in 2026 at least!
