Masked Singer fans work out identity of Kingfisher – WEEKS before new series even starts
THE MASKED Singer fans are convinced they’ve worked out who is behind Kingfisher – weeks before the new series kicks off.
It comes as ITV launched a new trailer that teased some of the costumes viewers can expect in the new year.
Some of the characters include a pufferfish, a toad, a crab, a bush, a bowl of spaghetti and a set of chattering teeth.
Plus a unicorn dressed as a knight, a frog in a cupcake and a brightly coloured kingfisher bird also feature.
In the clip, the feathered bird is seen wearing a black and white striped top and khaki overalls with a fishing rod in the back pocket.
There are a various fishing logos embroidered on the green outfit, including a compass on the character’s belt.
While some eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot the moon crescent – which they’re convinced is a big clue to who is behind the mask.
Some have linked this to EastEnders actor Shane Richie, who plays lovable cheeky chappie Alfie Moon on the BBC One soap.
One fan took to reddit with their guess, writing: “It could be Alfie Moon from EastEnders – the moon makes me think it is him.”
A second agreed and said: “It could be, the moon is a giveaway.”

While Love Island presenter Maya steps in to replace Rita Ora, who has moved permanently to the US version.
Line of Duty star Vicky McClure is also set to become a new guest judge this series.
Vicky will join alongside its regular judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan and Maya as they try to work out who are inside the wacky costumes.
A source said: “Vicky might play a string of serious roles in dramas, but she’s actually a big fan of The Masked Singer and jumped at the chance to spend a fun day among the madness.
“Fans will love it too, after she inadvertently became involved in the 2021 series of sister show The Masked Dancer, when viewers were convinced she was Llama.
“She joked online about it back then, so was thrilled to have the chance to be legitimately in the loop this year.
“Vicky brings an actor’s eye to proceedings and really adds to the mix.”
In the last series, a string of faces including Lorraine Kelly and Sir Lenny Henry covered for Rita when the singer’s filming dates clashed.
The source added: “Viewers loved the injection of different expertise each guest judge brought.
“So ITV decided to keep a fifth chair in the mix to include all manner of household names and help out the regular panellists.”
