What Rumored Red Sox Target Reportedly Wants In Potential Deal

The Red Sox added a huge piece to the rotation, and they might not be done after Wednesday.

Boston acquired its much-needed frontline starter when it acquired Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox. It cost Alex Cora’s side four top prospects, but it was a necessary move to address a key need.

Reports indicate that the Red Sox aren’t finished and are exploring options to add more depth to the rotation. Corbin Burnes is still a possibility, but Boston also has other top options to choose from like Walker Buehler. According to The Boston Globe’s Peter Abraham, the Red Sox are interested in the two-time World Series champion.

Buehler is one of the top pitchers in MLB when healthy and his reps reportedly have a specific ask. Buehler is seeking a multi-year deal with opt-outs, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney. The MLB insider noted the New York Yankees were interested in Buehler before reportedly agreeing to a massive deal with Max Fried. And the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants were other teams in the mix for the two-time All-Star.

The 30-year-old’s market could be dictated by where Burnes lands, but he’d be an interesting rotation piece for the Red Sox as they continue to explore other avenues to acquire team needs.
