Bill Belichick claims his first words were 'Beat Duke' and no one believes him
Hey, maybe Bill Belichick really did say “Beat Duke” as his first words when he was a kid.
After all, his father Steven was a North Carolina assistant coach back in the day. So it really could have happened.
That said, no one believes him on social media after he said this at his introductory UNC press conference: “One story I always heard was, ‘Billy’s first words were Beat. Duke.'”
That, along with his satisfied smirk, didn’t sell it. But it makes for a good image and all that as we all wonder why he’s taking a college coaching job.
