The Witcher sequel finally gets a name and a new female protagonist
CD Projekt is best known for its award-winning games like The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, but we haven’t seen a new game since 2020.
Since then, the team has been working on Cyberpunk DLC and other re-releases, but we know that more is in the works.
We got our first look at Ciri in the next Witcher game[/caption] The game is officially called The Witcher 4[/caption] And it looks as exciting as the original trilogy[/caption]Back in March 2022, CD Projekt announced a number of new games in development, but the one everyone was interested in was the next game in The Witcher series.
While fans called it The Witcher 4, it was officially codenamed Project Polaris.
Very few details of the game had been revealed before The Game Awards, but there were rumours that Geralt of Rivia would not be the protagonist in the new game.
This was revealed after Geralt voice actor, Doug Cockle, previously stated that his character would only have a small role in The Witcher 4.
The Game Awards held a bombshell for The Witcher series, and we finally know that it is officially called The Witcher 4.
In addition to the name, it seems that it will be launching earlier than expected, as the gameplay looked well fleshed out.
We have een that Ciri will take over as the protagonist of the series in the new trailer.
This new trailer seems to end the long-standing debates around which ending is the true ending for The Witcher 3.
With Ciri carrying on as a Witcher in Geralt’s footsteps, we can assume that she neither disappeared nor did she ascend the throne.
Next year is setting up to be one of the biggest ever years in gaming, with games like Civilization 7, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows launching in the first few months.
