Billy17 will officially launch with an upcoming new project the trio is currently developing together, which is titled Burnt, and has Oscar winner Rodney Rothman attached as writer.
“I’ve had an incredibly happy and successful relationship with Sony Pictures for almost a decade, so they felt like the perfect partner to launch our production company with,” Tom shared in a statement. “It’s been an ambition of mine to take this step for some time now, and we’re incredibly excited to bring entertaining, and rewatchable movies to the big screen. This is the hope for us, and it starts with Burnt, an idea which has been sitting in our heads for a few years, and having Rodney attached to pen our most ambitious project is incredible. We’re diving into the deep end here, and we’re extremely excited for what comes next.”
The production banner has set up house at Sony, which Tom has been closely working with on multiple projects, including the Spider-Man franchise and Uncharted.
They are also set to produce an upcoming adaptation of Graeme Simsion‘s novel “The Rosie Project,” as well as an adaptation of Teddy Wayne‘s recent novel “The Winner,” alongside Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal. Tom is set to star in the latter film.
Tom has a lot on his plate coming up, as he is also set to star in a new movie with Austin Butler, titled American Speed, as well as reuniting on-screen with girlfriend Zendaya on the upcoming Christopher Nolan film, with a stacked cast. He is also set to start filming his fourth Spider-Man movie in 2025.
