Pete Davidson Is a Creative Director Now, Too

It’s been a big day for creative-director musical chairs. Major fashion houses are switching out talent like they’re on a trading-room floor — Matthieu Blazy left Bottega Veneta to take the reins at Chanel, while Louise Trotter exited Carven to take Blazy’s vacant spot at Bottega. But while they were busy shuffling around, an unexpected player entered the creative-director arena: Pete Davidson. On Thursday, Davidson was appointed creative director of Doublesoul, an ecofriendly sock brand that does collaborations with influencers. And you thought he could only do comedy and date hot women!

To christen Davidson as creative director, Doublesoul did a photo shoot that shows him throwing a huge pile of socks into the laundry. “We want to give people something fresh yet wearable,” he said of his future work with the brand. Online, Doublesoul invites us to “shop Pete’s sock drawer,” something I would not imagine is fresh or wearable. No matter — Davidson has a whimsical, loungewear-heavy sense of style that will no doubt help him bring Doublesoul into a new era of sock innovation. I can’t wait to see him execute his vision.
