Mujibur's 'Joy Bangla' no longer national slogan in Bangladesh

Bangladesh's Supreme Court suspended a High Court ruling declaring "Joy Bangla" the national slogan. This follows the August ousting of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, whose image is also being removed from currency. The court deemed the slogan a policy matter outside judicial purview. The interim government, in power since Hasina's departure, had challenged the 2020 High Court verdict.
