Outrage as Cadbury choc treat spotted on B&M shelves just DAYS before Christmas as shoppers slam ‘give us a break’
WITH Christmas just around the corner, the shops are bursting with festive treats for the big day.
However, some eagle-eyed shoppers have spotted that there are already Easter eggs popping up on shelves.
Cadbury White Creme Eggs were spotted in B&M[/caption]Cadbury White Creme Eggs and Mini Eggs are now being flogged in B&Ms across the country.
Co-op has jumped on the band waggon and is also offering chocolate eggs in stores.
A photo of the foil-wrapped offenders appeared on Facebook and caused controversy.
One user wrote: “Too early for Easter eggs, give us a break.. for God’s sake we’ve not yet got Christmas out the way and New Year yet and you’re showing us Easter eggs – come on Cadbury’s this is ridiculous.
“Stop advertising. Easter egg we don’t care and we don’t want to know. Let’s get Christmas out the way first,” they added.
“JEEZ let us have Christmas first,” echoed a third.
But not everyone was outraged by the early Easter roll out.
“They always come out in December,” one pointed out.
“I need some,” a second added.
Many people tagged friends in the post, sharing the eggcitement for Easter chocolate.
Usually, Easter eggs are still available at major retailers after Easter has come and gone – and it’s the best time to get a good deal on them.
In March this year, Sarah-Jane, a deals expert at MyVoucherCodes, said most shops start selling off their stock after Easter Sunday.
“Small supermarkets that are open on Easter Sunday may have eggs reduced shortly before closing,” she added.
Big supermarkets like Tesco and Sainsbury’s will close their larger stores on Easter Sunday, but you can still check out Express and Local stores.
Either way, the vast majority of deals will come in the days after Easter.
Sarah-Jane said: “Expect to see Easter eggs reduced throughout the day on Easter Monday.
“The Tuesday after Easter will see the most reductions as shops will be freeing up space for other seasonal products.”
In previous years, The Sun found Easter eggs at Morrisons reduced to as little as £1.99.
Discounts will vary across supermarkets and branches, as it depends on how many the shops have left over.
The Sun has approached Cadbury for comment.
