Sarah Michelle Gellar Might Have Accidentally Revealed a Feud With Jennifer Love Hewitt

Is Sarah Michelle Gellar feuding with her former I Know What You Did Last Summer co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt? That’s what fans seem to think after watching an awkward red-carpet interview with Gellar and a reporter from the entertainment news show, Extra.

At the premiere of Dexter: Original Sin on Wednesday, Dec. 11 in Los Angeles, Gellar teased the reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer which her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr. is currently filming. “It’s so good,” she said “Again, there’s so many great stories, and the way to honor them is to just extend that universe. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson has put together an incredible cast, and the script is so much fun.” The reporter then asked if Hewitt was returning and that’s when fans think Gellar told on herself. Her face was probably trying to avoid any spoilers, but others think she was hinting about her possible dislike of Hewitt.

“I have nothing to do with that,” she shrugged and then smiled and walked away. Fans jumped on X to share their thoughts on a possible rift between the two women. “Look at her face!! 😭😂, She hates her so bad,” claimed one account. Another X user added, “the facial expression is everything.” And of course, there’s always one person who is trying to get everyone to calm down, writing, “The way theres no beef and the interviewer is just annoying.”

Everyone just needed to wait until Friday, Dec. 13 when Hewitt’s participation in the film was announced, via Variety. She will be back onscreen with Prinze Jr. along with new cast members, Chase Sui Wonders and Madelyn Cline. Gellar has also seen the online fuss and addressed the fake feud on her Instagram Story. She wrote next to a photo of a director’s chair with the film’s name on it, “Aspiring actors please note: this deer in the headlights reaction is perfect for when you are excited to see so many old friends join in one project but have already stupidly forgotten what NDA means once this month.”

See? No feud. Gellar also shared the news of Hewitt’s announcement with her Instagram followers. So, it’s time for everyone to move on — there’s nothing to see here.
