JOE Swash reveals the future of his cooking show after he was overlooked for Gregg Wallace’s MasterChef job.
After his success on Celebrity MasterChef, Joe teamed up with best-selling food author Suzanne Mulholland, also known as The Batch Lady for a new cooking show.
In the brand-new six-part series for Channel 4 in partnership with Lidl, the pair were set to meet a broad mix of families.
Each of them in need of advice to make their food budgets go further, their menus more organised and their meals better.
The plan was simple: to cut their meal prep time down to as little as just one hour a week by concurrently batch cooking, freezing, and storing multiple meals.
However, recently Joe begged for Gregg’s job on MasterChef after the sun revealed their was a race on to find the disgraced star’s replacement.
Names which were listed in our article as possible replacements included Gino D’Acampo, James Martin and Nigella Lawson.
Sharing a screen grab of our article on social media, Joe jokingly wrote across it: “And what about me!!”
Before quipping: “I can cook!”
But Joe didn’t get that job and he’s given an update on his own exciting cooking show instead.
In an interview with The Metro he says: “I’ve got a show coming out in January or February on Channel 4 all about batch cooking.
“We go around people’s houses if they’re struggling with their diet or financially or whatever it is and we show them how to do batch cooking.
“I came second on Masterchef, so I love cooking.
“I’ll do Sunday roasts, I’m doing the Christmas dinner. I really enjoy doing my bit in the kitchen.” he concluded.
Joe revealed he also has some new documentaries coming up soon which he is passionate about.
“I did a documentary with the BBC last year about kids leaving the care system, which is something I’m passionate about.

Regular MasterChef host Gregg Wallace is currently the subject of a probe after an investigation was launched into his alleged misconduct over a number of years.
Gregg has been accused of making sexual remarks to 13 colleagues including Beeb anchor Kirsty Wark – accusations he denies.
The 60-year-old has now stepped away from the BBC show while historical misconduct allegations against him are investigated.
Yet the former greengrocer spoke out on social media to blast the “women of a certain age” who he claimed were behind the allegations.
The cooking show’s production company, Banijay UK, has said law firm Lewis Silkin would lead the investigation into Wallace’s alleged misconduct.
“My mum is a foster carer and we’ve had two foster kids in our life for the past 20 years.
“Daniel, who is with us at the minute, we have had him since he was eight years old and now he’s doing his master’s next year.
“If Dan didn’t get the chance to be loved and have that bit of security, we might have lost him, and now he’s in university.”
He explains that he doesn’t think he is allowed to talk about the new documentaries but says: “They’re along similar lines to the first one I did social subjects that don’t get spoken about too much.”
Speaking earlier in the year about his excitement for the new show, Joe explained: “The last few years have seen every one of us juggling so many stresses, not least the rising cost of our food.
“Suzanne and I are hoping to give households the tools to not just save the pennies and the pounds, but also have more time to spend on being together as a family.”
His co-host Suzanne, has published four books in her own right, with a fifth on the way in January.
She added: “It’s a dream come true to be fronting a cookery TV series on Channel 4.”
Buy It, Batch It, Cook It will premiere on Channel 4 in January 2025.
