Mahadev betting app case: Actor Sahil Khan, renowned for his roles in movies like ‘Style’ and ‘Excuse Me’, has been detained by Mumbai’s cyber cell special investigation team. He was apprehended in Chhattisgarh after the Bombay High Court dismissed his pre-arrest bail plea.

Mumbai’s cyber cell special investigation team has detained actor Sahil Khan from Chhattisgarh in relation to the Mahadev betting app case, an official told PTI. The actor was taken into custody from Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh on Saturday following the rejection of his pre-arrest bail plea by the Bombay High Court.

Sahil Khan, known for films like ‘Style’ and ‘Excuse Me’, was recently questioned by the SIT in connection with the case.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has initiated an investigation into purported illicit dealings among specific financial and real estate entities within the state and the backers of the contentious Mahadev betting application.

According to the initial information documented in the police’s First Information Report (FIR), the magnitude of the fraud amounts to approximately Rs 15,000 crore.

An investigation is underway against Khan and 31 other individuals. The probe involves examining their bank accounts, mobile phones, laptops, and all technical equipment, according to the police.
