Kazakhstan's population increased by 210,139 people
Tengrinews.kz – According to the Bureau of National Statistics, Kazakhstan's population has grown by 210,139 people since the beginning of 2024. The primary contributor to this increase was natural population growth, which accounted for 198,443 people, while migration added another 11,693 people, as reported by Kapital.kz.
The highest rates of natural population growth were recorded in Turkestan Region (an increase of 36,628 people), the city of Shymkent (20,348 people), and the city of Astana (19,258 people).
During the first 10 months of 2024, 309,310 births were registered nationwide. The highest birth rates were observed in Turkestan Region (25.14 per 1,000 people), Mangystau Region (24.64), and Shymkent (23.78).
At the same time, 110,867 deaths were recorded in Kazakhstan during this period, a 3.3% decrease compared to the same period last year (107,289 deaths from January to October 2023).
The highest mortality rates were noted in North Kazakhstan Region (11.52 per 1,000 people), East Kazakhstan Region (11.32), and Kostanay Region (10.17), attributed to the age structure of the population in these regions.
As of November 1, 2024, Kazakhstan's population stands at 20,243,981.
