Halifax Panthers • Sunday v Wakefield.

What does everyone expect from the game? The best i can hope for is 'Brave Fax rattle mighty Trinity before full time fitness sees Wakefield home and bagging the league leaders shield'. A sad scenario i know, but money talks and it's where we are at the moment. Fax 12v32 Wakefield.

I understand his frustration. Because when he's putting his body on the line only for his creative players to let him down every single time they get into the attacking zone, then he's gonna get frustrated and give away penalties. That's how it is when you're at the bottom.

Yeah, would agree with this.
To give a little benefit of the doubt to Sao, there have been times this year where I've felt he has made mistakes due to trying too hard, in having... Читать дальше...

Hull FC • Re: Pearson

IMHO - he has never had the correct help and guidance during his tenure; perhaps because he didn't believe he needed it, either through obstinacy, or hubris? When he did, it became a succession of bad choices.

He has never struck me as naive, so it is somewhat baffling that he seems to have been led down the garden path a number of times whilst at the club. From the outside it as if he has learned little about the world and nature of RL since taking over from (and being misled by) the Hetheringtons. Читать дальше...

I see that our man in the know (Abe) ) has reported that Oli Leyland has now signed up for next year on a 2 year contract. We await the confirmation from the club.

Generally used as a middle these days much in the same way Peacock and Morley transitioned.

He can play secondrow but for last 2 possibly 3 seasons he has mainly been used as a middle unless there have been injuries in the secondrow. He went to Catalans as a specialist secondrow but was fairly disappointing.

They transitioned him to Prop/middle in 2022 and he was much better getting his England squad place back after not being selected in 2021.

On a visit to Wilderspool, early 80’s me and our kid nipped to the toilets at the side of the standing end, I heard a metallic clang and turned to my brother, he was rubbing his head and holding a beer tray and pee down his jeans. When we walked out 2 coppers tried to arrest him until he showed them his army warrant card, they didn’t even bother with the lover who threw the tray. Читать дальше...

Hull FC • NRL Takeover talk, should we be worried?

Lot of talk about the nrl coming on board and taking control of the super league. its got me thinking looking at there past strategies as in expansion, merging teams etc.
Am I right to be concerned they may look towards us and rovers and think they only needs to be one hull team and bring another franchise in expansion area to try and grow the sport.

I know it's years down the line but should we be looking over out shoulder, if things don't turn around at our club I know what the most attractive proposition is in hull at the moment. Читать дальше...

Wigan Warriors • Super League form rewarded as Wane names squad to travel to Toulouse

I think Peet has adapted Wigan's play to suit Smith's skills and limitations - dominant field position followed by Smith's high bombs. Also he has developed French from an erratic FB into a brilliant stand off (no doubt aided by Tommy L). He has far more options with Farrimond - a SH who can actually run, pass and support breaks. It's time to offload Smith to Saints on a 3 year deal.

I get the frustration bit from Sao, I really do however; there’s some absolutely needless yellows in there. Take the one at Catalan, seconds before halftime for example, just no need.

No, again he’s played second row this season for Catalans as well as prop. He is very good in both positions.

Because you say "No" does that make it factual?

He's a prop for me. Plays better at prop in my opinion. Played international rugby league as a prop. Was announced by the club when we signed him as a prop.

I'm willing to bet he's played prop alot more than 2nd row in the last couple of seasons
