Express and Star reporter Liam Keen reveals that despite signing Andre from Fluminense, Wolves have no intention of letting rumoured Tottenham target Joao Gomes leave before the transfer deadline.

It was widely reported until a couple of weeks ago that Ange Postecoglou was keen on bringing an all-action number eight through the door, with Gomes alleged to be one of the names on his wishlist.
In fact, GiveMeSport claimed on August 19 that the Brazil international fits the profile that Tottenham are looking for, with the North London side being backed to test the waters with an offer for the player, who is allegedly valued at £50m.
However, nothing has materialised on that front and several journalists have since played down suggestions that Spurs are expected to make a move for Gomes ( Dharmesh Sheth – Last Word on Spurs).
Joao Gomes is not for sale on deadline day
With Wolves thought to be close to signing highly-rated Brazilian attacking midfielder, Andre, some might be wondering if that potentially opens the door for the Midlands club to sell Gomes.
However, that is not the case according to Keen, who has insisted that Gary O’Neil’s men have made it clear that they will not let go of the 23-year-old before the 11 pm deadline.

Following Wolves’ acquisition of Andre, I would not be surprised if a few clubs test the water with an offer for Gomes over the next few hours.
However, it does not appear as if Spurs are going to get involved, with Postecoglou quite happy with Gray and Bergvall by the looks of it.
