CAPULOY STOPS TINAMPAY AND WINS WBF REGIONAL BELT

MANDAUE CITY, CEBU – Rhonvex Capuloy (12-3,9KO’s) peppered Jason Tinampay (14-20-2,11KO’s) with combinations to the body and, until a flurry of body blows sent Tinampay grimacing on the canvas in the second round.

Referee Rey Caitom signaled the end at the 1:15 mark. Capuloy won the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Australasian super featherweight title in the main bout of the fight card held at the Conequip Building in Mandaue City.

Capuloy had mixed results this year, having fought overseas twice with a 1D-1L record. He had a technical draw against Zhi Gang Zhang in South Korea and a TKO loss in Japan against Shunpei Ohata.

In the main supporting attraction, Police officer Jusue “Pistolero” Bastillada  ( 9-1,5 KO's) , survived a bloodied nose and got a hard earned unanimous victory against Paolo Fortun (3-2,1KO). Bastillada, an awkward southpaw, piled up the points early but had to hold back a late storming Fortun. The three judges’ scores – Rolando Mendoza and Noel Flores – 58-56 and Arnel Pasion -59-55. Bastillada has won his sixth straight bout.

For  the rest of the undercards – Reycar Auxilio stopped Jess Rhey Waminal in four rounds, Arlando Senoc battered and stopped George Sedillo in five rounds, Taiwanese Ming Hung Lee used a body shot to drop Kim Lindog in one round, John Rey Labajo won by TKO second round against Dixon Ercillo , Emje Felicilda got a unanimous nod against Ronnie Urgel after four rounds and Mark Anthony Sarino won by unanimous decision over Norman Rusiana  in four rounds.
