49ers may get Bosa, Greenlaw back vs. Rams, but bad news elsewhere

Dre Greenlaw may suit up for the 49ers Thursday night for the first time in 10 months.

The linebacker who tore his Achilles in Super Bowl LVIII last Feburary in Las Vegas is listed as questionable on Wednesday’s injury report, which said he would have fully participated if the Niners had practiced one day before they host the Los Angeles Rams. (The team only had a walkthrough practice this week, on Tuesday, so the Wednesday report is theoretical.)

Listed as limited participants are defensive end Nick Bosa (oblique) and rookie running back Isaac Guerendo (foot). Bosa and left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) have missed the last three games with injuries.

Williams has not progressed enough to return to action and will be out for Thursday night’s game, a key matchup to keep the 49ers’ dim playoff hopes alive.

Guerendo injured his foot in Sunday’s win over the Bears. He started that game in place of reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey (knee) and backup Jordan Mason (ankle), both of whom went on injured reserve last week.

Guard Ben Bartch (ankle) and rookie safety Malik Mustapha (chest, shoulder) are both listed out for Thursday’s game, too, though Bartch had been spelling Aaron Banks (concussion) and Banks was cleared to return.

Questionable along with Bosa, Greenlaw and Guerendo is defensive tackle Khalil Davis, who has a knee injury. Linebackers Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (knee) and Dee Winters (ankle), defensive ends Yetur Gross-Matos (knee) and Sam Okuayinonu (wrist) and safety Talanoa Hufanga (wrist) are all cleared to go after appearing on the injury list.

Gross-Matos recorded three sacks with Bosa out last week against the Bears and was named the NFL’s defensive player of the week.

The Rams’ injury report lists cornerback Cobie Durant (chest) and tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) out, while Tight end Davis Allen (shoulder), defensive end Tyler Davis (calf), tackle Alaric Jackson (knee), center Beaux Limmer (knee) and wide receivers Demarcus Robinson and Jordan Whittington (both shoulder) are questionable.
