I really don't think that has been the gist of the criticism at all. People have critiqued the game for the ways that it deviated from the old games, not since the AC formula is not for players.

I enjoyed the 120 hours I put into the match and got out until its defects started bothering me a great deal, but that was all before even paintings were added and also with how slow it is to get paintings I feel like I wasted a great deal of cheap Animal Crossing New Horizons Bells time enjoying it beforehand. The only thing this launch schedule/scheme has done is make me want not to play for like 2 decades and pick it up when it feels like a whole game.
