Democratic senator Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.) is sponsoring legislation to tackle so-called shrinkflation, saying that corporations "prey on consumers" by stealthily shrinking the quantity of snacks, toilet paper, and other consumer products to pad their bottom line.
