NEET case: SC stays proceedings in various HCs regarding paper leak allegations, counselling process to go on

The Supreme Court has halted proceedings in various High Courts concerning the alleged NEET-UG 2024 paper leak but emphasized that counseling will proceed. It issued notices on the National Testing Agency's (NTA) petition to transfer related cases to the apex court. Modi govt cannot conduct exams without leaks, frauds, alleges Congress

Hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam, the Congress on Thursday said every year he conducts a "grand tamasha" of what he calls 'Pareeksha pe Charcha' and yet his government cannot even conduct an examination without leaks and frauds. The opposition party also asked the prime minister if he would "leak pe speak". Rupee Continues To Stay Stable; G-sec Yields Soften, Says RBI

The Indian rupee (INR) continued to remain one of the least volatile major currencies and appreciated modestly by 0.02 per cent (m-o-m) vis-vis the US dollar in May 2024, according to RBI June Bulletin. The INR appreciated by 1.2 per cent (m-o-m) in May 2024 in terms of the 40-currency real effective exchange rate (REER), supported by positive relative price differentials and the appreciation of the INR in nominal effective terms.
