Searing heat wave grills large parts of the US, causes deaths in the West and grips the East

After causing deaths and shattering records in the West over the weekend, a long-running heat wave will again grip the U.S. on Monday, with triple digit temperatures predicted for large parts of the East Coast. A visitor to Death Valley National Park has died from heat exposure and another person has been hospitalized as the temperature there reached 128 degrees this weekend. Hot Chili's new venture to quench mines in water-scarce Huasco Valley

Copper company Hot Chili has announced the establishment of Huasco Water a new joint venture (JV) water company formed to supply sea water and desalinated water to mine developments in a part of the water-stressed Atacama desert. The water company, a JV with Chilean iron-ore miner Compania Minera del Pacifico (CMP), will supply the Huasco Valley. Hot Chili has outlined about 3 700 l/s of potential future desalinated water demand from new mine developments, as well as other community and industrial sources of demand.

In Iloilo, delay hits repair work on ‘sinking’ flyover

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — The completion of the P295-million repair work on the controversial Ungka flyover in Iloilo may have to wait for some time.
