Digital gold biz: WGC asks Finmin, RBI to draft guidelines

The World Gold Council (WGC) has requested the Union finance ministry and Reserve Bank of India to establish guidelines and regulatory frameworks for the digital gold business in India. The council aims to protect digital gold and promote transparency in buying and holding gold. Infosys posts better Q1 growth but discretionary spending is yet to pick up

Infosys echoed a continued slack in discretionary spending by clients. During an analyst conference call, it mentioned that though there are early signs of pick up in the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) vertical, the largest revenue generator for the company, a strong recovery is not yet visible. BFSI contributed around 28% to the company’s revenue in the June quarter.

ECI allows Shiv Sena (UBT) to accept public contributions ahead of Maharashtra polls

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has permitted the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) to accept public contributions, following a similar decision for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)-Sharad Pawar faction. Both parties are contesting ECI's decisions on their symbols and names in the Supreme Court. The ECI's authorization allows the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction to accept contributions from individuals and companies (excluding government companies) under Sections 29B and 29C of the Representation of People Act, 1951.
