Judges should use a sense of robust common sense in bail petitions: CJI D Y Chandrachud

India's Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud has criticized trial judges for not granting bail on important crimes when they are looked at with suspicion. He emphasized the need for a'sense of robust common sense' to look at the nitty-gritty of each case. He said that people who should be getting bail in trial courts should not move to the high courts, which in turn, leads to them moving to the Supreme Court.
