After SC verdict, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah promises internal quota for SCs and STs

CM Siddaramaiah hailed the Supreme Court's ruling empowering states to make sub-classifications within Scheduled Castes for reservations as historic. He reaffirmed his government's commitment to implementing the Justice AJ Sadashiva committee's recommendations on internal reservation. The ruling addressed the issue of reservation benefits not reaching all sub-sects within SCs and STs.

How income inequality significantly contributes to corruption in all its forms

The Gallup World Poll Survey (2019-23) revealed a rise in income inequality and corruption in India, with the top 1% earning 22.6% of total pre-tax income. Corruption perceptions increased, with more respondents believing it was prevalent in both businesses and government. The judiciary showed mixed effectiveness in addressing the issue.
