West Bengal assembly passes resolution affirming state's unity amid controversy over North Bengal development proposal

On Monday, the West Bengal assembly passed a resolution affirming the state's unity in response to a proposal by BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar to incorporate North Bengal into the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER). The resolution, supported by both the ruling Trinamool Congress and the opposition BJP, includes the phrase "undivided and united Bengal" as proposed by BJP Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari.
