Delhi court seeks NIA's response on Engineer Rashid's bail application

A Delhi court has sought the National Investigation Agency's response on an application filed by jailed Kashmiri parliamentarian Rashid Engineer seeking regular bail. Sheikh Abdul Rashid, popularly known as Engineer Rashid, was arrested in a 2017 Jammu and Kashmir terror funding case. He defeated former chief minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah in Baramulla in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) dismissed media claims about delays in stadium renovations for the Champions Trophy next year, emphasizing that only domestic and bilateral Test matches might be affected. At Bulgaria's "Sunny Beach" resort, foreign seasonal workers from Nepal and Sri Lanka have gone missing, according to BNT which received reports from local hoteliers. The police in Burgas have confirmed that four individuals—three from Nepal and one from Sri Lanka—are currently unaccounted for, although there is no evidence that they have left the country.
