Mizoram boy who died saving bro awarded posthumously

An eleven-year-old Mizoram boy, Anthony Vanmawia, received the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak posthumously for saving his younger brother from drowning in April 2023. Despite his heroic effort, Anthony lost his life in the Tuirial river. He is one of 31 individuals recognized in 2023, with two others also posthumously awarded.

Cloud cluster off Mindanao may turn into LPA

The state weather bureau said on Thursday it was monitoring a cloud cluster east of Mindanao that could develop into a low-pressure area (LPA) in the next few days. According to weather specialist Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the cloud clusters could enter the Philippine area of responsibility.
