Bangladesh is experiencing another round of severe floods. Volunteers from across the country are rushing to the affected areas in trucks, carrying boats, speedboats, and relief supplies.

After elephants, monkeys found to call each other by 'name' in new study

After elephants, now monkeys have been found to make specific sounds to name each other, according to a new study. Researchers found that marmoset monkeys, native to South America, use specific vocal calls, called "phee-calls", to identify and communicate with each other. A study published in the journal Nature Ecology and Evolution in June showed that wild African elephants addressed each other with name-like calls, uniquely invented for each individual. Japan protests over Chinese survey ship entering its territorial waters

Japan lodged a formal protest via China's embassy against what it called an incursion by a Chinese survey ship into its territorial waters Saturday, the Japanese foreign ministry said. The ministry expressed strong concern after the ship was spotted near Kagoshima Prefecture, southwestern Japan, early in the morning. The Chinese ship, confirmed in territorial waters at 6 am local time, left shortly before 8 am, according to Japan's Defence Ministry, adding it was monitored by a Japanese military vessel and plane. Maduro blames foreign fascist saboteurs for blackout

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Friday blamed fascist imperialism for the large-scale blackout that hit a large part of Caracas and its surrounding areas. "The investigations are advanced, they will be deepened," insisted the head of state in a public message in which he stood behind the theory that the malfunction stemmed from foreign far-right sabotage.
