Annual Pet Connection Tailgate Party raises thousands for homeless pets

The annual Pet Connection Tailgate Party kicked off Saturday at the Tailgate Tavern. The event is the biggest pet fundraiser of the year, with nearly $25,000 raised for the homeless pets. The party took place from noon until 6:30 p.m., and was comprised of live music, a live auction, a barbeque, and a raffle.

Multiple people shot along I-75 in southeastern Kentucky, say authorities

Multiple people were shot along Interstate 75 in a rural area of southeastern Kentucky, authorities said. The Laurel County Sheriff's Office said in a post on Facebook on Saturday that it was an "active shooter situation" and "numerous persons" were shot near the highway. It added that the interstate was closed 9 miles north of London. In a video statement, London Mayor Randall Weddle said was told seven people were hurt, but not all of those were wounded by gunfire.
