'Outsiders not allowed': Police probe sign boards in Kedar Valley that reportedly restrict entry into Uttarakhand villages

Uttarakhand's DGP Abhinav Kumar has ordered an investigation into signs in Kedar Valley villages restricting 'outsiders' from entering. Initially targeting specific groups, the signs were altered after police intervention. SC orders U'khand college to release original documents of MBBS students

In a relief to 91 students, the Supreme Court has ordered a medical college in Uttarakhand to release their original documents withheld by the institute for non-payment of fee arrears. A bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud took note of the submissions of senior lawyer Gaurav Agarwal and advocate Tanvi Dubey, appearing for the doctors, that the students will neither be able to register themselves as medical practitioner nor can take up examinations for higher studies for lack of original documents. Paris Paralympics: Indian contingent receives rousing welcome on return home

The Indian Paralympics contingent returned to New Delhi with a record-breaking haul of 29 medals, including seven golds. Dollar Index firms ahead of US Inflation data

The US dollar climbed higher to a near one-week high on Tuesday morning in Asia as all eyes turn to a key US inflation data this week that could offer clues on the magnitude of an expected interest rate cut from the Federal Reserve later this month. The yield on the US 10-year Treasury note however held around 3.70%. Meanwhile, the August payrolls report released on Friday provided little clarity on the rates path, with the US economy adding fewer jobs than expected, while the unemployment rate edged lower and wage growth remained solid. Out on bail in abduction case, man kidnaps teen again, rapes her in UP's Bhadohi

Veer Nath Pandey, previously imprisoned for kidnapping a 17-year-old girl, allegedly abducted and raped her again after being released on bail. The abduction occurred on August 5, 2024. The victim reported severe sexual abuse to the police on September 2. Pandey was arrested on Monday at Itahara Chauraha.
