Power generation increases 86% to 360 bn units in 10 yrs: Minister Joshi

The country has registered an 86 per cent increase in power generation through renewable sources to 360 BU in the past 10 years, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said noting India is the only G20 country to have met its climate targets ahead of schedule. US targets Hamas with sanctions on anniversary of Gaza war

WASHINGTON — The United States on Monday imposed sanctions on an international Hamas fundraising network, accusing it of playing a critical role in external fundraising for the Palestinian militant group, in action marking the first anniversary of the Gaza war.  The U.S. Treasury Department in a statement said it imposed sanctions on three people and what it called a "sham charity" that it accused of being prominent international financial supporters of Hamas, as well as on the Al-Intaj Bank in Gaza that it said was controlled by the group. Bihar to develop Kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary as tiger reserve, gets Centre's nod

Bihar will develop Kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary as its second tiger reserve due to Valmiki Tiger Reserve reaching capacity. The National Tiger Conservation Authority has given approval. The KWLS will provide a new habitat for the tiger population, which has grown significantly in the state. Other wildlife in the sanctuary includes leopard, sloth bear, and several bird species.

After the first two Conferences in New York (2017) and Lisbon (2022), France and Costa Rica are jointly organizing the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) in Nice, from 9 to 13 June 2025. Ten years after COP21 and the Paris Agreement, UNOC3 is seeking to bring together all United Nations Member States, specialized agencies, civil society, the private sector and international donors, and through the Nice Ocean Agreements, achieve what was achieved for the climate with the Paris Agreement in 2015.
