Keir Starmer is now more unpopular with the public than Nigel Farage, according to a new poll.

In yet another blow for the prime minister, the number of people with an unfavourable opinion of him has soared to 63% - the highest number since he entered No.10 on July 5.

Pollsters YouGov found that just 27% of voters have a favourable opinion of Starmer, giving him a net rating of minus 36.

New Federal Lead Pipe Rule is Big Step Forward, Replacing Weak Trump Action

Today, the Biden-Harris Administration released its final Lead and Copper Rule Improvements to strengthen protections against lead in drinking water, replacing the regulations adopted by the Trump administration. The new rule will require full lead service line replacement in a decade for most communities, lower the action level from 15 ppb to 10 ppb, and protect millions of people from lead exposure from their drinking water.

Zero Carbon Charge, AIDC-EC launch off-grid EV charger programme in the Eastern Cape

Zero Carbon Charge (Charge), in partnership with the Automotive Industry Development Centre Eastern Cape (AIDC-EC), and together with the Eastern Cape provincial government, has broken ground on what it describes as an off-grid, ultra-fast, green electric vehicle (EV) charging network. Once completed, the network in the Eastern Cape should consist of 29 sites, 18 of which will be dedicated to electric passenger and light commercial vehicles (LCVs), while 11 will be off-grid electric truck charging stations.

The US recognised the vital role that oil and gas played in the global energy matrix, assured US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Energy Joshua Volz. He was addressing the Africa Oil Week 2024 conference in Cape Town, on Tuesday. He noted that oil and gas provided 80% of the world’s energy. The US was, in fact, the world’s leading producer of oil and gas. Africa was also an important producer.
