Jordan’s Foreign Minister Fears ‘Abyss Of Full-Scale Regional War’

Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Safadi, who also serves as foreign minister, has said that Israel’s war with the Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon is pushing the Middle East into the “abyss of full-scale regional war.”

Safadi was speaking at a news conference following a meeting with Najib Mikati, Lebanon’s caretaker prime minister, in Beirut.

Philippines launches naval drills with allies as regional tensions simmer

SUBIC, Philippines — The armed forces of the Philippines, the United States and four other countries began joint naval exercises off the coast of the Philippines' northern Luzon island facing Taiwan in a display of naval strength amid rising tensions with China.  Called "Sama Sama," which means togetherness, this year's drills, which involve almost 1,000 sailors and personnel from Australia, Canada, France, Japan, the United States and the Philippines, are high-intensity exercises focusing on anti-submarine, anti-surface and anti-air warfare.

Austin Marks Anniversary Of Hamas Attacks, Reaffirms US’ Commitment To Israel’s Defense

One year since the deadly Hamas terrorist attack, the Defense Department remains committed to helping Israel defend itself, Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said Monday, marking the somber anniversary during a briefing with reporters at the Pentagon.
